Cisco Secure Services Client

The Cisco Secure Services Client is client software that lets you deploy a single authentication framework on multiple device types, for access to both wired and wireless networks. With the tools to support large enterprise deployments, the Secure Services Client helps businesses:
  • Simplify management of both wired and wireless networks.

  • Improve network security.

  • Lower the total cost of network ownership, or TCO.

The Secure Services Client manages user and device identity and the network access protocols required for secure access. It works intelligently to make it simple for employees and guests to connect to a Cisco and Non-Cisco wired and wireless network. As a component of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network, the Secure Services Client:
  • Provides a single authentication framework for multiple device types on the basis of the IEEE 802.1X standard.

  • Supports leading security standards such as Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA), WPA2, and Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP).

  • Supports Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

  • Integrates with the Cisco Self-Defending Network with support for Network Admission Control (NAC).

  • Decreases implementation and operational costs associated with protecting wired and wireless endpoint devices.

  • Provides an end-to-end authentication service when combined with the Cisco Secure Access Control Server and other EAP-enabled Radius servers.

  • Fully integrates with the Cisco Unified Wireless Network access points and wireless LAN controllers.

  • Supports third-party credential databases.

  • Protects network endpoint devices.

  • Enforces security policies.

  • Provides complete control over network access.
